.%20I%20love%20the%20fresh%20and%20hearty%20flavor%20of%20rosemary%20so%20I%20add%20it%20to%20whatever%20I%20can.%20Last%20week%20I%20made%20rosemary-flavored%20custard.%20Over%20the%20weekend%20we%20added%20fresh%20rosemary%20to%20the%20beef%20stew%20and%20I%20this%20time%20I'm%20using%20it%20in%20my%20mashed%20potatoes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERosemary%20mashed%20potatoes%20are%20very%20easy%20to%20make%20if%20you%20follow%20this%20simple%20method.%20Warm%20some%20milk%20in%20a%20pot,%20toss%20in%20a%20sprig%20of%20fresh%20rosemary%20and%20let%20it%20simmer%20for%20a%20few%20minutes%20to%20flavor%20the%20milk.%20The%20warmed%20flavored%20milk%20is%20then%20added%20to%20the%20cooked%20potatoes%20while%20mashing%20them.%20I%20served%20these%20potatoes%20with%20the%20leftover%20beef%20stew%20and%20it%20was%20excellent!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESometimes%20a%20word%20such%20as%20%E2%80%9Crosemary%E2%80%9D%20will%20make%20me%20think%20of%20a%20certain%20song.%20In%20this%20instance%20it%20reminded%20me%20of%20a%20song%20called%20Rosemary%20by%20Lenny%20Kravitz.%20This%20song%20was%20off%20his%20first%20album%20called%20Let%20Love%20Rule,%20which%20was%20a%20favorite%20of%20mine%20when%20it%20was%20released%20in%201989.%20I%20hummed%20the%20tune%20in%20my%20head%20while%20enjoying%20the%20subtle%20aromas%20of%20rosemary%20in%20my%20kitchen.%20It%20was%20one%20of%20those%20relaxed%20cooking%20experiences%20I%20absolutely%20love!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERosemary%20Mashed%20Potatoes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstruments%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELyrics%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20potatoes%20in%20a%20large%20saucepan.%20Add%20enough%20cold%20water%20to%20just%20cover%20potatoes.%20Bring%20to%20a%20boil%20over%20high%20heat.%20Reduce%20heat%20to%20medium-low%20and%20simmer%20until%20potatoes%20are%20fork%20tender,%20about%2010%20to%2012%20minutes.%20Drain%20potatoes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20potatoes%20are%20cooking,%20in%20a%20small%20saucepan,%20melt%20butter%20over%20medium%20heat.%20Add%20milk%20and%20rosemary.%20Cook%20until%20milk%20is%20heated%20through.%20Remove%20rosemary%20from%20milk.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUsing%20a%20potato%20masher,%20mash%20potatoes%20while%20gradually%20adding%20warmed%20milk.%20Beat%20after%20each%20addition%20until%20potatoes%20are%20light,%20fluffy%20and%20no%20lumps%20remain.%20Add%20salt%20and%20pepper.%20Mix%20well.%20Transfer%20mashed%20potatoes%20to%20a%20serving%20bowl%20and%20top%20with%20chives.%20Serve%20hot.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EVolume:%20Makes%206%20servings%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBrent%20Garell%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Kitchen%20Roadie%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebrent@cookapalooza.com%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
