- Beat large eggs till thick and lemon colored. Add in cake mix, pudding mix, root beer and oil. Beat 10 min. Pour into 2 greased and lightly floured 9 x 10 inch pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 min or possibly till done. Cool 10 min. Remove from pan.
- Boil sugar and root beer together for 2 min. Puncture tops of cakes with a fork so which liquid will penetrate, then spoon syrup over cake. Cool and refrigerate.
- At serving time, cut each layer horizontally to make 4 layers. Whip topping mix as directed on package substituting cold root beer for lowfat milk. Set aside 1 cup of whipped topping for decorating top. Spread remaining topping between layers.
