Рецепт Roasted Radishes; disappearing dog and the update
Significant progress was made this week without significant cursing.
He was plumbing.
He hates plumbing.
Apparently he decided he only wanted to do things once this time.....Because it all worked the first time.
With only 4 or 5 extra trips to the DIY store.
So, now we are on to bigger things.
Like building the surround for the bathtub - which is installed:
And building the walls for the shower so we can do the tiling:
Today, we did another major shopping trip - shower door, lights, mirrors, paint....
And we came home to find Emma, the big white dog, sitting on the doorstep - outside.
Friday when we came home from doing the shopping she was asleep under the tree. We never leave the dogs out when we're gone. I assumed that she had followed me out when I was talking to the neighbor and I hadn't realized it; inadvertently leaving her outside.
But today I double-checked to make sure both dogs were in the kitchen. I patted them both on the head, went out the door, looked back at them, closed the door and locked it.
There is no way that I left her outside.
But she was outside.
Two weeks ago, after we had been gone, we found her in the barn.
She's a big girl, easily 65k (140lbs); she's not slipping through the cracks.
We finally pieced together what she was doing: After we leave she must be going upstairs (which she is not allowed to do). Once upstairs she must have found the other set of rickety stairs that leads down into the barn. The first time that was as far as she went. Last time she explored further and got into the cellar.
Mon mari typically 'forgets' to close the cellar door. Apparently, she found the cellar door, let herself out and managed to find her way back into the front yard where she patiently awaited my return.
That was fine on Friday when she napped in the shade.
Not so great today when we had rain and thunderstorms all afternoon.
She was an unhappy puppy when we got home.
A pretty peony I wasn't expecting.....
Last year, or maybe the year before, Kalyn, of Kalyn's Kitchen, roasted some radishes.
What a marvelous idea I thought!
What a strange idea I thought!
This year I finally got around to trying it.
- Roasted Radishes
- radishes
- olive oil
sea saltToss the radishes with the olive oil to coat. Roast at 400F (200C) for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with sea salt and serve.
I do so hate these complicated recipes....
You really have to try these. They're a little sweet, a little savory.... and very pretty!
