.%20%20I%20was%20intrigued%20by%20the%20components%20that%20Bobby%20Flay%20used--%20Pomegranate%20Molasses...%20interesting,%20I%20thought.%20%20Vanilla%20Bean%20-Pecan%20butter...%20Bobby,%20you're%20really%20talking%20to%20me,%20now.%20%20He%20then%20sprinkles%20the%20roasted%20Brussels%20sprouts%20with%20pomegranate%20arils%20(that%20would%20be%20the%20beautiful%20seeds)%20For%20a%20final%20Ta-Da,%20freshly%20grated%20orange%20and%20lime%20zest.%20%20Count%20me%20in!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI've%20never%20had%20pomegranate%20molasses,%20so%20I%20decided%20to%20research%20how%20to%20make%20it.%20It's%20very%20easy%20to%20make%20yourself,%20and%20I%20show%20you%20how%20here.%20%20You%20can%20buy%20it,%20though%20I've%20never%20spotted%20it%20where%20I%20shop.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20need%20to%20make%20this%20Vanilla%20Bean%20-%20Pecan%20Butter.%20%20Truly,%20you%20do.%20%20Only,%20I'm%20going%20to%20show%20you%20how%20to%20make%20it%20right.%20I'm%20also%20going%20to%20share%20you%20with%20a%20nice%20little%20shortcut%20to%20using%20real%20vanilla%20bean.%20It's%20a%20lot%20cheaper,%20too.%20%20Ready?%20%20I%20buy%20Vanilla-Bean%20Paste.%20%20%20Trust%20me,%20there%20is%20nothing%20wrong%20with%20using%20a%20real%20vanilla%20bean.%20%20I%20just%20find%20them%20to%20be%20very%20sacred%20because%20they%20can%20be%20expensive.%20%20I've%20purchased%20vanilla%20bean%20paste%20online,%20and%20have%20only%20recently%20discovered%20Singing%20Dog%20Vanilla%20products.%20I%20love%20the%20company,%20and%20their%20commitment%20to%20using%20sustainable%20ingredients.%20%20In%20fact,%20being%20on%20the%20look-out%20for%20a%20Giveaway%20Promotion%20that%20I'll%20be%20posting%20very,%20very%20soon!%20%20(My%20second%20anniversary%20is%20coming%20very%20%20close...like%20in%20days.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhatever%20you%20do,%20don't%20use%20vanilla%20extract!%20%20It's%20too%20potent%20for%20this%20recipe.%20(If%20you%20do,%20you'll%20be%20part%20of%20the%20family%20of%20folks%20who%20reviewed%20this%20recipe%20and%20complained%20that%20it%20was%20too%20sweet.)%20You're%20welcome.%20%20To%20unsalted%20butter,%20you%20will%20add%20chopped%20toasted%20pecans%20and%20some%20vanilla%20bean%20seed%20(or%20vanilla%20bean%20paste).%20Mix%20it%20together%20and%20refrigerate%20for%20at%20least%2030%20minutes.%20%20(I%20made%20something%20wonderful%20with%20the%20leftover%20butter,%20the%20next%20day.%20I'll%20post%20that%20later%20on.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow,%20you%20need%20to%20buy%20one%20Pomegranate.%20%20Have%20you%20ever%20opened%20one%20up?%20%20Neither%20had%20I!%20%20But,%20I%20knew%20about%20the%20%22under-water%20trick%22.%20%20Why%20water?%20%20Pomegranate%20seeds%20stain.%20%20The%20water%20is%20a%20way%20to%20prevent%20the%20beautiful%20ruby-red%20juice%20from%20now%20staining%20your%20shirt,%20hands%20or%20anything%20else%20that's%20in%20the%20way.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFirst,%20put%20a%20couple%20of%20paper%20towels%20on%20your%20cutting%20board%20(unless%20you%20want%20a%20red-dyed%20cutting%20board).%20%20Cut%20off%20the%20ends%20(I%20went%20a%20tad%20bit%20deep)%20and%20then%20score%20the%20sides,%20just%20until%20the%20pith%20(white%20stuff)...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20bowl%20of%20water,%20begin%20to%20peel%20the%20Pomegranate.%20%20The%20white%20stuff%20will%20float%20to%20the%20top,%20and%20the%20arils%20(seeds)%20will%20sink%20to%20the%20bottom.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow,%20drain%20the%20bowl%20and%20pick%20out%20the%20white%20stuff%20that%20you%20missed.%20%20%20That%20takes%20a%20little%20extra%20patience.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENOTE:%20It's%20a%20good%20idea%20to%20do%20this%20a%20day%20ahead%20of%20time.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20still%20had%20a%20little%20more%20picking%20cleaning%20to%20do....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESnacking%20on%20the%20pomegranate%20seeds%20brought%20back%20childhood%20memories%20of%20%20my%20cousin's%20pomegranate%20tree.%20%20These%20are%20so%20delicious%20and%20very%20healthy%20for%20you.%20Here's%20to%20Vitamin-C!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20a%20lot%20of%20arils%20left,%20but%20they%20are%20in%20an%20air-tight%20container,%20in%20my%20fridge.%20%20They%20won't%20go%20to%20waste.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet's%20make%20Bobby%20Flay's%20recipe!%20%20Let's%20begin%20with%20fresh%20Brussels%20sprouts.%20%20Wash%20them,%20trim%20off%20the%20bottom%20end,%20and%20cut%20them%20in%20half.%20%20You%20can%20use%20a%20baking%20sheet,%20but%20I%20like%20to%20use%20my%20cast-iron%20skillet.%20Add%20some%20coarse%20salt%20&%20pepper%20(to%20taste)%20and%20drizzle%20with%20a%20little%20canola%20(or%20olive)%20oil.%20%20Your%20oven%20should%20be%20pre-heated%20to%20375F.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToss%20the%20vegetables%20and%20roast%20for%2015-20%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20drizzle%202-3%20Tablespoons%20Pomegranate%20Molasses%20(and%20admire%20the%20rich%20color)...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E...stir%20to%20combine%20and%20roast%20for%20about%203-4%20minutes,%20more...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E...let's%20get%20dramatic.%20%20Add%20some%20Pomegranate%20Arils...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELook!%20Christmas%20Colors!%3C/p%3E%
