Рецепт Rhubarb Yogurt Parfait; blossoms everywhere
It's a pretty day, despite the layer of ash that's hanging over our heads, unseen by us except in the colorful sunsets.
I decided to do a pretty post in honor of the occasion.
Our apple tree is humming.
It's absolutely packed with blossoms and each blossom appears to have it't very own bee.
The entire tree hums.
I love the way the blossoms start out a very deep red and fade to pure white after they're opened.
Our wisteria tree is starting to bloom.
In another week we won't be able to see the pine tree underneath that's supporting it. I'm certain the wisteria is killing the pine tree, but they are ao intertwined now it would be impossible to separate them.
Last fall mon mari gave our Catalpa trees a proper French cut.
It's certainly an easy way to trim a tree.... cut everything.
We were relieved to see it coming back to life....
One more apple blossom.....
And just to let you know that green garlic is not the only thing I buy at the market....
I scored some wonderful rhubarb the other day.
Since I don't do pies, I made sauce.
Then I made this lovely Parfait for my lunch today.
Yes, this was my lunch.....
- Rhubarb Yogurt Parfait
- Rhubarb Sauce
- 4 cups sliced, fresh rhubarb
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
Cook the rhubarb, water and sugar over low heat until very soft. I like my rhubarb on the tart side. Taste and add more sugar if you prefer it sweet. Chill until cold.
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
In a pretty wine glass layer the rhubarb and yogurt. Grab a spoon, find a lovely spot among the flowers and dip in.
I hope you enjoyed this bit of beauty brought to you by Mother Nature.....
