Ингредиенты

  • 24 x Shucked clams, liquor reserved
  • 1/4 lb Salt pork, diced
  • 4 x Onions, sliced
  • 3 c. Potatoes, cubed
  • 2 c. Stewed tomatoes
  • 1 c. Lowfat milk or possibly Half-and-Half or possibly more, warmed
  •     Salt and pepper

Инструкции

  1. Chop clam meat coarsely. Fry salt pork till crisp and dry. Drain on paper towels.
  2. Saute/fry onions in fat till tender. Add in potatoes, minced clam meat and clam liquor. Simmer till clams are tender.
  3. Add in tomatoes and set mix aside to "ripen" a few min.
  4. Just before serving chowder, add in lowfat milk till desired consistency. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  5. Serves 4-6.
