Red White and Blue Martini
Toast today’s national holiday with a red white and blue martini!
Red White and Blue Martini
I was at a party in Iowa when a bartender first presented me with this red white and blue martini. Like any sensible person, I marveled over all the beautiful, patriotic colors. “What on earth is this sorcery?” I demanded, explaining that I HAD to share the recipe on my blog. The dainty drink-shucker smiled and happily shared her secrets with me, as any logical person would because I’m equal parts awesome and persuasive. For all of you readers who would like a drink, you’re welcome. This one’s on me. In spirit, although probably not in actual real life. Please don’t come to my house.
Red White and Blue Martini Ingredients
½ oz Sprite, chilled ½ oz vodka, chilled ½ oz blue curacao ½ oz grenadine 1 maraschino cherry, with stem Instructions
Mix the Sprite and vodka, and pour into a martini glass. Use a spoon to break the surface of your liquid at an angle, and gently pour the curacao down the spoon below the clear layer. Gently drop the maraschino cherry into the glass, holding the stem up. Drizzle the grenadine down your stem. It will settle on the bottom along with the cherry. 3.3.3077
Her tip to use a stemmed cherry to layer the ingredients is genius.
Go on and impress your friends with your red white and blue martini skills, or pin it for later. This would make a cool drink for 4th of July or Veteran’s Day as well!
How are you showing your patriotism today?
