Рецепт Red White and a Funny Shade of Blue
Red White and a Funny Shade of Blue

Raise your hand if you have ever been stomped trying to come up with a blue food for the 4th of July. Yes, we can use blueberries even though they are more purple-ish. Trying to tint white frosting or white cake a deep blue is nearly impossible so we settle for a nice shade of blue that is no where near the color associated with Independence Day.
I have wasted lots of ingredients, time and effort combining blue food coloring with black and purple to achieve the color I want. Sometimes the darker the frosting the more bitter it is. Nothing ruins a perfectly good dessert than a bitter taste.
In an effort to stop beating my head against the wall and/or settling, I decided to use non-edible decorations to round out the July 4th color trio. Straws, scrapbook paper, even plates cups and napkins are ready and waiting to assist us in our decorating woes.
Here’s what I have so far and I’ll show you how it all comes together in a few days.
