%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20I%20have%20promised%20a%20blog%20of%20Red%20Velvet%20goodness%20and%20what%20is%20what%20you%20are%20going%20to%20get!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere%20is%20a%20little%20history%20on%20Red%20Velvet%20cake...%20It%20is%20a%20rich%20sweet%20cake%20with%20a%20hint%20of%20chocolate%20and%20has%20a%20distinctive%20reddish%20brown%20color...It%20is%20said%20to%20have%20originated%20in%20the%20Southern%20states...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20enough%20talk...%20let's%20get%20down%20to%20business.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees.%20Sift%20together%20the%20flour,%20cocoa,%20salt%20and%20baking%20soda%20then%20set%20aside.%20Usually%20I%20do%20not%20take%20pictures%20of%20the%20ingredients%20but%20I%20got%20new%20measuring%20bowls%20that%20I%20will%20have%20a%20seperate%20blog%20about%20and%20I%20just%20had%20to%20show%20them%20off...%20I%20just%20LOVE%20them!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECream%20together%20the%20butter%20and%20the%20sugar%20until%20fluffy..%20about%205%20minutes...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20eggs%20one%20at%20a%20time...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20in%20the%20sour%20cream,%20milk,%20food%20color%20and%20vanilla...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20did%20not%20use%20and%20ounce%20I%20used%20this%20new%20Wilton%20food%20coloring%20I%20had%20bought...%20I%20did%20not%20know%20how%20much%20to%20use%20which%20is%20why%20my%20cake%20is%20not%20as%20read%20this%20time%20as%20it%20has%20been%20in%20the%20past...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGradually%20add%20in%20the%20flour%20mixture%20until%20it%20is%20incorporated%20but%20do%20not%20over%20mix!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20batter%20into%20two%20greased%20round%20pans.%20Bake%20cake%20for%2035%20minutes%20or%20until%20toothpick%20inserted%20in%20the%20center%20comes%20out%20clean.%20Cool%20for%20about%2010%20minutes%20before%20removing%20from%20pan%20and%20setting%20on%20wire%20rack%20to%20cool!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20used%20vanilla%20frosting%20as%20in%20my%20research%20that%20is%20the%20original%20intended%20frosting%20for%20this%20cake.%20Many%20like%20cream%20cheese%20frosting%20and%20I%20will%20try%20it%20next%20time....%20but....%20this%20cake%20is%20sooooo%20YUMMY%20with%20vanilla%20frosting!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELook%20at%20that...%20In%20the%20lighting%20in%20my%20kitchen%20it%20looks%20brown%20but%20it%20is%20actually%20a%20reddish%20auburn%20color...%20I%20wish%20I%20had%20added%20more%20coloring%20but%20I%20did%20not%20want%20to%20over%20do%20it!!%20I%20love%20this%20cake!%20It%20is%20rich%20and%20light%20at%20the%20same%20time...%20Jason%20agrees%20that%20is%20a%20keeper!%20This%20is%20the%20cake%20I%20intend%20to%20be%20the%20traditonal%20birthday%20cake%20at%20our%20house!%20I%20just%20wanted%20to%20share%20it%20with%20you...this%20is%20the%20second%20time%20I%20have%20used%20this%20recipe%20and%20I%20just%20love%20it...%20I%20hope%20you%20guys%20do%20too!!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
