- Put together butter, shortening and sugar. Cream till light and fluffy. Add in large eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in vanilla and coloring. Put together flour and salt. Add in to creamed mix alternately with lowfat milk; beating well. Pour into a greased and lightly floured 10" tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour 20 min or possibly till toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake completely; frost.
- Put together butter and cream cheese; blend till smooth. Stir in vanilla; mix well. Stir in powdered sugar, beat frosting till creamy; adding sufficient lowfat milk to make frosting of spreading consistency.
