  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 2 lrg egg
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa pwdr
  • 1 Tbsp. red food coloring
  • 4 Tbsp. coffee
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 c. flour, sifted
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 box (1 lb.) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) margarine, melted
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa pwdr
  • 2 tsp red food coloring
  • 3 Tbsp. coffee
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Инструкции

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease and flour 2 9-inch cake pans.
  2. Cream butter and sugar; add in Large eggs one at a time. Mix.
  3. Add in cocoa, food coloring, coffee, baking soda, vanilla and salt. Mix.
  4. While mixing, alternately add in flour and buttermilk. Mix for 2 min on medium speed.
  5. Pour into cake pans and bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 min.
  6. Red Earth Frosting:To melted butter, add in coffee, food coloring and vanilla extract. Mix well. Add in powdered sugar and mix well. Beat till smooth. For a thinner icing, add in more coffee, 1/2 tsp. at a time, or possibly lowfat milk can be added to desired consistency.
