Рецепт Red-Cooked Cod with Fennel, Carrots and Leeks, the update
by Katie Zeller

It’s official….

Grilling season is over.

Daylight saving time is over

Fuel is being delivered tomorrow.

We have a fire in the fireplace.

The mice have all moved in….

Summer is over.

To celebrate I made mon mari’s favorite: Fish!

Okay, he hates fish…. but he loves anything stir-fried so it was a compromise.

Red-Cooked Cod with Fennel, Carrots and Leeks

otal time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

The fish:

Instructions:

The fish:

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add fish sauté on one side until lightly browned. Turn

Combine sesame or walnut oil, soy sauce and powdered ginger. Spoon onto fish.

Sauté until done

The vegetables:

While fish cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add vegetables and stir-fry 5 minutes.

Combine sesame or walnut oil, soy sauce and molasses. Stir into vegetables.

Stir in sesame seeds and spoon onto a platter

Remove fish from the other skillet and place on vegetables.

Spoon any pan juices on top of fish, sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve

Mon mari agreed that he may have to stop referring to Friday as ‘Fish Hell Night’.

He was pleased.

I was pleased that he got the radiator installed – since we’re on the cusp of winter and all.

The ceiling is finished in the pantry – except for the trim.

But nothing much else is getting done.

Mon mari is spending his time elsewhere.

He has a job.

You know, that thing where one does work for someone else in exchange for money.

He was worried about getting bored.

He does hate to be bored…..

On another note – I thought you’d like to see my new little buddy. I think I’ll name him Algernon…..

He went up the drapery with no problem but, apparently, coming down was more challenging.

I’m sure it had nothing to do with 1 human and 2 dogs waiting for him.
