- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.2. Grease the bread pans.
- Switch on a burner to low heat. Heat butter in the saucepan on the burner.
- Add in the sugar, salt and buttermilk. Stir with the wooden spoon till it has dissolved. Remove the saucepan from the stove and turn off the heat.
- Allow the melted butter mix to cool.
- Beat the large eggs in the small mixing bowl. Stir them into the melted butter mix.
- Stir together the flour and salt into the mixing bowl. Add in the raisins and nuts and blend well with a spoon.
- Add in the melted butter mix to the flour mix and stir to blend. Make sure there are no dry patches at the bottom of the mixing bowl.
- Put the dough into the bread pans. Level off the tops with a spoon.
- Bake for 1 hour. Take the pans out of the oven using the oven mitts. Turn off the oven heat.
- Let the loaves cool slightly. Cut them into thick slices with the bread knife.
