Рецепт Pretzel, Peanut Butter & Chocolate Malted Milkshake
Pretzel, Peanut Butter & Chocolate Malted Milkshake
Over the past couple of weeks, I have eaten at a number of places that have great burgers and milkshakes. I’ve gone all-in on the burgers, but have been way too full to even think about a milkshake. Usually, I get one to go, but I’ve been too full even for that. I had to take matters into my own hands and whip one up at home. When I’ve been in the mood for a milkshake at home, I’ve been making my fluffernutter version, which is so peanut butter-y!
While I was in college, my little dorm-size refrigerator had an itsy-bitsy freezer that was just enough room to stash some pints of ice cream. My favorite indulgence was Ben & Jerry’s Chubby Hubby ice cream. If you haven’t had it, let me fill you in – malted vanilla ice cream is loaded with peanut butter-filled, chocolate-covered pretzels and swirls of fudge and peanut butter. For anyone that loves the combination of pretzels, peanut butter and chocolate, this ice cream was absolute heaven.
I made it into a milkshake, and it totally quenched my thirst for a thick and creamy shake that I’d been craving.
I started with vanilla ice cream and added in a little milk, malted milk powder, peanut butter, pretzel pieces, and pieces of milk chocolate. This makes a super-duper thick shake, which I love; if you prefer a thinner milkshake, simply add more milk. You could also use semisweet or dark chocolate if you’d like; my Valrhona chocolate comes in oval-shaped disks, so I just broke them up with my fingers. You could use any type of baking chocolate bar or even chocolate chips.
This shake tasted just like the ice cream I downed by the pint-ful while in college, which is to say it’s absolutely fabulous.
I’m ready for another one!
