Рецепт Pregnancy Tea: Make it or Buy it?
by Jelli

Staying fit and healthy throughout pregnancy is a no-brainer for most mamas, but have you ever considered uterine health? For centuries women have relied on herbal teas to maintain uterine tone and help intensify contractions during labor, particularly pregnancy teas made from red raspberry leaf.

Since I experienced minor hemorrhaging post-birth with Summer Elizabeth, I’ve been searching for methods to help improve uterine tone & health to possibly prevent this from occurring with baby E.’s upcoming birth. Drinking pregnancy iced tea seemed like a simple, painless solution, so that’s what I’ve been doing and couldn’t be happier.

The question is, should you buy the tea or make it yourself?

Make It!

Common pregnancy tea herbs:

-Alfalfa (Medicago sativa)

Buy It!

To save time and avoid a kitchen blunder, I opted to purchase Traditional Medicinals organic teas online, though there are many brands on the market, including this sampler pack.

I really enjoy the flavor of the pregnancy tea as it has a hint of spearmint and makes for a deliciously refreshing iced tea. The red raspberry leaf tea is palatable too, tasting like a weak black tea. I like to mix both together (2 parts pregnancy to 1 part red raspberry leaf) to make a large pot of tea in the morning that is the recommended daily 3-4 cups and transfer the cooled tea to the fridge. It’s great iced!

Whether you opt to blend your pregnancy tea or buy it boxed, your body and baby will thank you for taking one more step toward a healthy pregnancy.
