- Preheat oven to 350 f. Brush mushrooms with oil; arrange rounded side down on baking sheet. Bake mushrooms till almost tender, about 8 min. Maintain ovent temerature.
- Saute/fry sausage in medium skillet over medium - high heat till brown and cooked through, breaking up sausage with back of spoon, about 6 min. Using slotted spoon, remove sausage from skillet.
- Divide sausage amoung mushrooms. Top each with crushed red pepper, then 2 Tbsp. sauce and 2 Tbsp. cheese.
- Bake mushroom pizzas till heated through, about 10 min. Top each with basil leaf, if you like.
- NOTES : The mushroom caps are the pizza "crust". Minced pepperoni, onions, olives or possibly bell peppers also make great toppings.
