%20%E2%80%9Cpimento%20cheese%20salad%E2%80%9D%20as%20it%20was%20very%20similar%20to%20ham%20salad.%20It%20is%20still%20my%20favorite,%20especially%20for%20sandwiches.%20However,%20I%20have%20also%20discovered%20some%20good%20%E2%80%9Cpimento%20cheese%20spreads%E2%80%9D%20here%20in%20the%20South.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20me,%20and%20probably%20only%20me,%20the%20distinction%20between%20calling%20pimento%20cheese%20a%20%E2%80%9Csalad%E2%80%9D%20or%20a%20%E2%80%9Cspread%E2%80%9D%20is%20the%20simply%20the%20number%20of%20vegetables.%20A%20salad%20it%20will%20have%20pickles%20and/or%20other%20veggies%20with%20the%20pimentos.%20A%20spread%20will%20only%20have%20pimentos.%20However,%20it%20all%20can%20simply%20be%20called%20just%20pimento%20cheese.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20decided%20to%20try%20a%20replicate%20a%20local%20restaurant%E2%80%99s%20pimento%20cheese%20spread%20after%20a%20disastrous%20dining%20experience%20on%20my%20birthday%20that%20was%20so%20bad%20that%20even%20my%20nine%20year-old%20vowed%20never%20to%20go%20back.%20%20We%20really%20like%20their%20pimento%20cheese%E2%80%A6just%20not%20enough%20to%20endure%20another%20dining%20experience%20like%20that%20one.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe:%20Pimento%20Cheese%20Spread%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20cream%20cheese,%20cheddar%20cheese,%20and%20pimentos%20in%20a%20mixer%20bowl.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20at%20low%20speed%20until%20well%20blended.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20Worcestershire%20sauce,%20vinegar,%20sugar,%20and%20mayonnaise%20on%20low%20speed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20the%20ingredients%20are%20incorporated,%20mix%20on%20high%20speed%20until%20desired%20consistency%20(smoothness)%20is%20reached.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERefrigerate%20for%20at%20least%20thirty%20minutes%20before%20serving%20for%20best%20results.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENotes:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20Old%20Bay%20seasoning,%20hot%20sauce,%20cayenne%20pepper,%20chipotle,%20etc.%20for%20an%20extra%20kick%20of%20flavor.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMedium,%20sharp,%20or%20extra%20sharp%20cheddar%20can%20be%20used.%20The%20sharp%20seems%20the%20best%20in%20terms%20of%20texture%20v.%20flavor.%20All%20are%20best%20if%20freshly%20shredded%20or%20grated%20rather%20than%20getting%20the%20stuff%20from%20a%20bag.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGreat%20served%20as%20a%20spread%20for%20vegetables,%20crackers,%20breads,%20etc.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECopyright%20%C2%A9%202015.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe%20by%20Paula,%20A%20Simple%20Home%20Cook.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
