  • 2 lb Smelts, dressed
  • 1/3 c. Vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Fresh ginger, sliced or possibly 1/4 teaspoon powdered
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/3 c. Water

  1. I have two smelts recipes which are really easy and lowfat (except for the coconut lowfat milk - see if you can find the lowfat kind) and delicious if desired which tangy vinegar taste. These are Filipino recipes and so are meant to be eaten with steamed rice. These are both from Marilyn Donato's
  2. Combine all ingredients in a covered pot. Boil 5 min, uncover and cook 3 min more or possibly till half of broth has evaporated. Serve warm or possibly cool.
  3. Serves 6.
