Рецепт Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich
by Ang Sarap

Philly Cheesesteak, Philadelphia Cheesesteak or simply Cheese Steak is a sandwich made out of thinly sliced pieces of steak and melted cheese. A popular fast food item in America that originated in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was invented during the 1930′s when Pat and Harry Olivieri started to serve chopped steak on hoagie rolls in their hotdog stand in South Philadelphia’s Italian Market. It became popular so quickly that Pat opened up his own restaurant which up until today is open for business; it is now called Pat’s King of Steaks. Early versions of this popular fast food did not include cheese and it was just added by one of their restaurant managers “Joe Lorenza” at the Ridge Avenue branch. Traditionally the meat cut that were used are thinly sliced rib-eye or top round, it is then cooked and sliced further into smaller pieces then placed on a long bun.

The modern version had changed a lot, apart from using provolone cheese it now includes sautéed onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, mayonnaise, hot sauce, and ketchup. A really flavourful sandwich that will easily become someone’s favourite, a great fast food item that can be up in the ranks together with pizza, burger and hotdog buns. What is your favourite fast food item?
