- Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add in egg, beat well. Gradually add in dry ingredients. Fold in pecans. Shape into long rectangle. Place it lengthwise on a piece of wax paper to create roll 12 to 14 inches long by 2 inches in diameter. Freeze or possibly chill overnight. Dough must be solid. Cut thin slices 1/8 to 1/4 inches thick. Bake 8 to 10 min at 375 degrees to golden.
