Рецепт Pasta with Sausage, Chard and Pesto Rosso, the update
I decided it’s Pesto Rosso Week.
I made another batch with a few modifications…. I added a tbs of tomato paste, a little more basil, a little less olive oil, a few more olives and only used 1 clove of garlic.
It was good.
I particularly liked less garlic…. This batch was less ‘sharp’.
But I did end up with rather a lot of Pesto Rosso
First we had pasta…
Grilled sausages and chard made it an easy main course.
I kept the dish simple – there’s enough flavor in the pesto rosso.
Pasta with Sausage, Chard and Pesto Rosso
Total time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
- 10oz (300gr) sausages any flavor, turkey or pork, hot or not
- 3 medium shallots, chopped
- 6oz (180gr) chard, chopped
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tbs olive oil
- 1/3 – 1/2 cup pesto rosso
- 4oz (120gr) dried fettuccini
Instructions:
Cook pasta according to package instructions.
Grill or fry sausages, then slice into 1″ (2.5cm) lengths.
Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
Add paprika, shallots and sauté 3 minutes.
Add chard and sauté 5 minutes longer.
When pasta is done, drain, reserving a few tbs of pasta water.
Add pasta to skillet along with sausages and pesto rosso.
Stir to combine, adding a bit of pasta water to thin if needed
Serve.
I love simple recipes…
And I love finished rooms.
The closet doors are finished (I think).
He even decided to make the knobs…. They’re pretty – but are kind of hard to see in the photos.
The doors for the linen closet are almost done. He’s needs three more hinges for the upper doors..
He even did a proper floor.
He had boards down over the insulation… and they did work but they didn’t actually cover the insulation.
Now they do.
For awhile I was transported back to my childhood.
My father built my parents’ house. He had help with the basic construction (as far as I know – I wasn’t born at the time) but he did the finishing work.
He never finished the floor in the linen closet.
For as long as I can remember it was a source of nagging on my mother’s part and prevaricating on my father’s part, but the floor of the linen closet remained unfinished until after he retired and I was long gone out into the world.
I have no idea why he didn’t finish it or why he finally did.
Every time I looked at the floor in my linen closet – I thought about my parents and smiled.
