Рецепт Pasta BBT
We went to the Sunday Market at Guthrie Green this past weekend.
Guthrie Green is a cool urban park in the Brady District in Tulsa.
It is funky and cool.
On Sundays, you can find hula hoopers…
street musicians…eccentrics….food trucks…vintage clothing….vinyl records…funky jewelry…and fresh produce.
Check out this gnarly sweet potato.
What does Guthrie Green have to do with Pasta BBT?
We scored some great tomatoes there.
I couldn’t resist drawing a face on this one.

The cherry tomatoes that we bought were beautiful…
and I am still picking basil.
That is what prompted this recipe, Pasta BBT. The BBT stands for Bacon, Basil and Tomato Pasta.
- BBT Pasta
- Bacon, Basil, and Tomato
- 8 oz. flat pasta (I used a garden blend fettuccine from Pappardelle’s.)
- 2 T. extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb. cherry tomatoes, halved
- 3/4 c. basil leaves, packed
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
- 4 oz. goat cheese
Cook pasta according to directions.
While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a sauté pan. Add garlic and cook for 2 minutes over medium-low heat. Add tomatoes and cook until tomatoes are warm. Set aside.
When pasta is done, drain (reserving a bit of pasta water), and add pasta back to cooking pan. Add tomato mixture, basil, bacon, and goat cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. You may add a bit of the reserved pasta water to thin it if desired.
Serve.
This made four servings. Enough for dinner and a lunch for us.
I have wanted to highlight Guthrie Green for some time now. It is such a great spot to spend a Sunday afternoon. Not only can you browse at the Sunday Market, hula hoop, or listen to bands, you can also enjoy some delicious food at Lucky’s on the Green. We however, usually make the short walk to The Tavern (our absolutely favorite place in the world) for Sunday Brunch. And, right across the street from the Green, you can visit the Woody Guthrie Center, Contemporary 108, the new Philbrook annex, and a couple of other cool artsy places. Seriously, there is no other place to spend a cool fall afternoon.
We have yet to visit this new venue. It is on our list!
If you find your way to Tulsa, put these places on your itinerary.
Abby, hope you enjoyed the funny veggie face today!
