- Saute/fry the onion in the margarine or possibly butter.
- Trim and slice or possibly chop the mushrooms; let cook along with the onion.
- Pour into a buttered baking dish and fold in the bread crumbs and parsley.
- Place the fish on top.
- Bake in a 200 to 225 degrees oven for 10 to 15 min.
- Baste the fish often; add in a little water if necessary.
- For extra fine taste add in 1 to 2 Tbsp. white vermouth.
- Serve the fish directly from the baking dish.
- Bake whole fish in the same way; allow 20 to 25 min cooking time.
- Carp grayling pike pike perch and whitefish may be prepared in the same way.
