,%20this%20is%20my%20favorite%20time%20at%20the%20market.%20Everything%20is%20so%20fresh%20and%20crisp.%20Pickle%20was%20really%20digging%20the%20raw%20sugar%20snap%20peas%20and%20he%20munched%20on%20these%20until%20we%20bought%20our%20strawberries%20%E2%80%A6%20then%20it%20was%20no-holds-bar%20with%20those%20sugary%20sweet%20treats.%20His%20mouth%20and%20chin%20were%20stained%20pink%20from%20the%20juice,%20but%20he%20was%20in%20bliss,%20asking%20for%20more%20every%20few%20feet.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOur%20dinner%20group%20is%20heading%20outdoors%20this%20month%20for%20a%20little%20evening%20picnic%20under%20the%20stars.%20My%20friend%20Katie%20has%20been%20brainstorming%20what%20to%20cook%20on%20her%20camping%20grill%20%E2%80%93%20besides%20her%20famous%20blue-cheese%20burgers%20(which%20are%20divine)%20and%20asked%20me%20if%20I%20had%20any%20ideas.%20It%20got%20me%20thinking%20about%20party%20friendly%20grilled%20foods%20%E2%80%93%20ones%20that%20are%20full-flavored,%20prep-ahead%20dishes%20that%20don%E2%80%99t%20require%20the%20cook%20to%20be%20manning%20the%20grill%20all%20night%20(which%20is%20never%20fun).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere%E2%80%99s%20my%20top-five%20list%20of%20quick-grilling%20entrees.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ep.s.%20successful%20grilling%20really%20comes%20down%20to%20two%20things:%20a%20clean%20grill%20(grate%20oiled%20if%20you%E2%80%99re%20doing%20fish)%20and%20a%20really%20hot%20fire.%20Don%E2%80%99t%20attempt%20these%20without%20those%20two.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFish%20kabobs%20and%20cherry-tomato%20kabobs%20%E2%80%94%20kabobs%20are%20great%20for%20fish,%20since%20you%20don%E2%80%99t%20have%20to%20worry%20about%20the%20fish%20falling%20apart%20on%20the%20grill%20when%20you%20try%20to%20lift%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUse%20this%20%E2%80%9Cmarinade%E2%80%9D%20for%20both%20the%20fish%20and%20the%20tomatoes%20%E2%80%94%20honestly,%20this%20is%20my%20go-to%20marinade%20for%20almost%20everything;%20I%20just%20modify%20it%20as%20needed%20with%20different%20herbs%20or%20spices:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20marinade%20ingredients%20together%20in%20a%20bowl%20and%20then%20divide%20it%20between%20two%20bowls%20%E2%80%94%20one%20for%20the%20fish%20and%20one%20for%20the%20tomatoes.%20Toss%20to%20coat%20and%20then%20place%20on%20metal%20skewers%20(don't%20mix%20the%20two).%20Grill%20over%20a%20hot%20fire,%20for%20roughly%205-7%20minutes%20total,%20turning%20once.%20Serve%20with%20grilled%20bread%20and%20wedges%20of%20lemon.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESkirt%20steak%20with%20chimichurri%20%E2%80%93%20just%20a%20sprinkle%20of%20kosher%20salt%20and%20black%20pepper%20on%20the%20steak,%20grilled%20for%202-3%20minutes%20per%20side%20depending%20of%20the%20thickness,%20a%20good%20rest%20on%20the%20cutting%20board%20and%20a%20side%20of%20chimichurri%20are%20all%20you%20need%20for%20this%20ultra-flavorful%20meat.%20I%E2%80%99ve%20linked%20to%20a%20very%20traditional%20recipe,%20but%20I%20have%20made%20chimichurri%20with%20mint,%20cilantro,%20and%20basil.%20Use%20what%20you%20have%20and%20what%E2%80%99s%20in%20season.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EShrimp%20%E2%80%94%20Well,%20very%20sadly%20gulf%20shrimp%20is%20pretty%20much%20out%20of%20the%20question,%20but%20shrimp%20can%20take%20a%20good%20lashing%20of%20heat%20and%20spice%20and%20are%20super-fast%20cooking.%20Use%20the%20fish%20%E2%80%9Cmarinade%E2%80%9D%20above,%20replacing%20the%20marjoram%20with%201%20teaspoon%20red%20chile%20flakes%20and%201%20teaspoon%20smoked%20Spanish%20paprika.%20Skewer%20them,%20allowing%20space%20in%20between%20each%20shrimp;%20they%20should%20take%203-4%20minutes%20total%20to%20cook%20over%20hot%20coals.%20You%20don%E2%80%99t%20want%20to%20overcook%20them%20or%20they%20turn%20to%20rubber.%20Lemon%20wedges%20are%20a%20must.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrilled%20halloumi%20and%20zucchini%20%E2%80%94%20this%20vegetarian%20dish%20is%20also%20a%20great%20starter.%20Halloumi%20is%20a%20firm%20cheese,%20usually%20made%20from%20sheep%20or%20goat%E2%80%99s%20milk%20that%20can%20withstand%20the%20heat%20of%20a%20grill.%20Again,%20use%20the%20marinade%20above%20for%20the%20zucchini.%20Just%20halve%20the%20zucchini,%20coat%20with%20the%20marinade%20and%20place%20on%20the%20grill%20%E2%80%94%202-3%20minutes%20per%20side.%20Figure%20%C2%BD%20a%20halloumi%20per%20person%20and%20one%20whole%20zucchini.%20Serve%20with%20grilled%20flatbread%20and%20grilled%20lemons%20and%20a%20little%20sambal%20chile%20sauce%20for%20adventurous%20eaters.%20I%20grill%20the%20halloumi%20whole%20(for%20about%205%20minutes%20one%20side%20and%201-2%20on%20the%20other)%20and%20then%20slice%20into%20%C2%BD-inch%20slices.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBurgers%20%E2%80%94%20I%20know,%20so%20obvious,%20but%20so%20gosh-darn%20good%20that%20it%20had%20to%20be%20include.%20Burgers%20really%20are%20the%20essence%20of%20summer%20on%20a%20plate.%20I%20use%20grass-fed%20ground%20chuck%20%E2%80%94%20that%E2%80%99s%20it.%20You%20can%20shape%20the%20burgers%20well%20in%20advance%20and%20keep%20them%20cold%20in%20the%20fridge,%20salt%20and%20pepper%20them%20just%20before%20grilling%20an
