%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20a%20loooooong%20(lovely!)%20week%20and%20a%20loooooong%20(lovely!%20lovely!)%20Saturday,%20I%20found%20myself%20hobbling%20a%20bit%20while%20walking%20my%20dog%20last%20night,%20my%20aching%20hips%20and%20knees%20a%20reminder%20that%20I%20crossed%20a%20line%20somewhere%20in%20all%20the%20awesomeness%20of%20hard%20work%20and%20good%20people,%20and%20still%20have%20chronic%20conditions%20from%20almost%2020%20years%20of%20Lyme%20Disease%20and%20its%20related%20terrors.%20%20I%20wanted%20to%20take%20a%20hot,%20Epson-salted%20bath.%20%20Or%20break%20my%20legs%20with%20a%20hammer.%20%20I%20know%20a%20few%20of%20you%20out%20there%20will%20recognize%20that%20sensation.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20instead%20of%20going%20out%20dancing%20way%20downtown,%20I%20cut%20my%20night%20short%20and%20parked%20it%20inside.%20%20I%20was%20shocked%20to%20find%20myself%20drawn%20to%20a%20Josh%20Duhamel%20movie.%20%20This%20made%20absolutely%20NO%20sense%20since%20I%E2%80%99m%20generally%20not%20a%20%E2%80%9Cchick-flick%E2%80%9D%20or%20%E2%80%9Crom-com%E2%80%9D%20or%20any%20other%20horribly%20kitschy-named%20movie%20genre%20fan%20and%20don%E2%80%99t%20think%20I%E2%80%99ve%20ever%20actually%20seen%20this%20dude%20in%20a%20film%20before.%20%20Why%20was%20I%20drawn%20to%20a%20film%20that%20would%20bring%20out%20my%20innermost,%20snarkiest%20criticizer%20but%20also%20bring%20me%20some%20weirdly%20cheap%20comfort?%20%20Because%20I%20recalled%20that%20during%20my%20last%20serious%20bout%20of%20Lyme%20all%20my%20exhausted%20brain%20and%20body%20could%20handle%20were%20the%20most%20mindless%20shmather%20(it%E2%80%99s%20a%20word,%20now),%20movies%20that%20were%20nothing%20more%20than%20visual%20background%20noise%20(realize%20I%E2%80%99m%20taking%20too%20many%20liberties%20with%20language%20now%E2%80%A6%20I%E2%80%99ll%20get%20to%20the%20point).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20cupcake.%20%20Along%20with%20my%20bad%20movie%20I%20just%20wanted%20one%20cupcake.%20%20Not%20a%20bunch%20of%20cookies,%20not%20a%20batch%20of%20anything%20to%20have%20sitting%20around.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJust.%20%20One.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20I%20made%20one.%20%20Using%20Michael%20Ruhlman%E2%80%99s%20Ratio%20for%20sponge%20cake%20as%20a%20base,%20I%20made%20an%20incredibly%20dense,%20fudgy%20cupcake,%20perfect%20with%20a%20dab%20of%20the%20leftover%20vegan%20blackcurrant%20%E2%80%9Ccream-cheese%E2%80%9D%20frosting%20haunting%20me%20from%20another%20recipe%20(posting%20soon).%20%20I%20sloppily%20mixed%20weighing%20and%20measuring%20ingredients%20together%20and%20checked%20the%20timing%20on%20it%20occasionally%20while%20giving%20myself%20a%20good%20stretch%20on%20the%20floor.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20then%20I%20ate%20it%20while%20pondering%20Duhamel%E2%80%99s%20left%20eyebrow.%20%20And%20mulling%20over%20the%20state%20of%20romantic%20comedies%20of%20my%20age%20demographic.%20%20And%20willing%20myself%20to%20just%20change%20the%20channel!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20you%20just%20want%20one%E2%80%A6%20here%20ya%20go.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOh,%20and%20now%20that%20I%E2%80%99m%20rested%20and%20medicated,%20the%20sun%20is%20shining%20and%20I%E2%80%99m%20off%20to%20review%20a%20few%20incredible%20NYC%20food%20events%E2%80%A6%20life%20is%20back%20to%20lovely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBlackcurrant%20Cream%20Cheese%20Frosting%20%E2%80%93%20Vegan!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%C2%B0.%20%20Put%20a%20cupcake%20liner%20in%20a%20tin%20or%20ramekin.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20salt%20and%20cocoa%20to%20the%20flour.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20small%20bowl,%20beat%20butter%20on%20medium/high%20until%20creamy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20sugar%20and%20beat%20until%20light%20and%20fluffy,%20about%202%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20egg%20and%20beat%20until%20pale%20and%20fluffy,%20and%20slightly%20expanded%20in%20volume.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20extracts%20and%20beat%20to%20combine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20flour%20and%20mix%20on%20low%20until%20just%20combined.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20into%20prepared%20dish%20and%20bake%20for%20about%2018%20minutes%20or%20toothpick%20inserted%20comes%20out%20clean.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
