%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20we%20got%20older,%20she%20discovered%20chili%20powder%20and%20oregano,%20and%20once%20a%20week%20(usually%20Saturday%20nights)%20she%20would%20treat%20us%20to%20her%20version%20of%20chili,%20which%20was%20ok,%20but%20.%20.%20.%20quite%20plain,%20although%20my%20dad%20loved%20it.%20The%20recipe%20came%20from%20the%20back%20of%20a%20tin%20of%20Tomato%20Soup%20.%20.%20.%20need%20I%20say%20more???%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20love%20chili,%20and%20I%20love%20Spaghetti%20Bolognese.%20I%20think%20the%20British%20have%20quite%20adopted%20Spaghetti%20Bolognese,%20or%20Spag%20Bol%20as%20it%20is%20affectionately%20dubbed%20over%20here,%20as%20their%20own,%20and%20I%20think%20everyone%20here%20in%20the%20UK%20has%20their%20own%20secret%20recipe.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20don't%20believe%20in%20keeping%20secrets%20when%20it%20comes%20to%20cooking%20.%20.%20.%20I%20like%20to%20share!!%20This%20here%20is%20my%20version%20of%20Spag%20Bol%20.%20.%20.%20It%20combines%20two%20of%20my%20great%20loves%20.%20.%20.%20Spaghetti%20Bolognese%20and%20Chili.%20I%20guarantee,%20it's%20not%20anything%20like%20your%20mama's%20version!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Not%20Your%20Mama's%20Spag%20Bol*%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServes%206%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20a%20different%20sort%20of%20a%20twist%20that%20I%20put%20on%20good%20old%20Spaghetti%20Bolognaise.%20In%20truth,%20I%20love%20this%20even%20more%20than%20regular%20Spag%20Bol!%20I%20just%20can't%20get%20enough%20of%20it!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20the%20olive%20oil%20into%20a%20large%20saucepan%20and%20heat.%20Once%20it%20is%20hot%20add%20the%20beef%20mince.%20Cook%20and%20stir%20until%20it%20is%20completely%20browned.%20Add%20the%20onion,%20garlic,%20chilies,%20salt,%20cumin%20and%20taco%20seasoning%20mix%20and%20continue%20to%20cook%20and%20stir%20until%20the%20onion,%20garlic%20and%20peppers%20are%20soft.%20Add%20the%20chopped%20tomatoes,%20beef%20stock,%20and%20tomato%20puree.%20Bring%20to%20the%20boil,%20then%20reduce%20the%20heat%20and%20simmer%20for%2015%20to%2020%20minutes.%20Gently%20stir%20in%20the%20beans%20and%20cook%20for%20a%20further%205%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20the%20meantime%20bring%20a%20pot%20of%20lightly%20salted%20water%20to%20the%20boil.%20Add%20the%20pasta%20and%20cook%20according%20to%20package%20directions.%20Drain%20well%20and%20divide%20amongst%20hot%20serving%20plates.%20Top%20each%20with%20a%20portion%20of%20the%20sauce%20and%20pass%20the%20toppings!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20.%20.%20.%20just%20in%20case%20you%20were%20wondering%20.%20.%20.%20this%20is%20how%20the%20Toddster%20ate%20his%20.%20.%20.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThat's%20right!%20On%20top%20of%20a%20huge%20pile%20of%20fluffy%20mash.%20Well%20.%20.%20.%20to%20each%20his%20own%20I%20always%20say!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENote%20-%20Waitrose%20is%20stocking%20this%20new%20grated%20cheese%20mixture%20by%20Simply%20Inspired.%20I%20used%20the%20spicy%20Mexican%20one%20here,%20it%20has%20cheddar%20and%20mozzarella%20mixed%20with%20red,%20green%20and%20jalapeno%20peppers%20and%20crushed%20chillies.%20Delicious!!!%20It%20was%20just%20perfect!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
