Рецепт Mutton Masala (Without Ginger, Garlic & Tomatoes)
Wash mutton pieces and chop into medium sized pieces.
In a pressure cooker add the chopped mutton pieces, salt and turmeric powder, then add water until the pieces gets immersed. Close the lid and pressure cook for 10 minutes on low flame and set aside. Do not discard extra water it will be also used while making masala.
Meanwhile chop onions, slit green chillies into halves, and set aside.
In a pan/wok add oil. after it heats up add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
Then add urad dal, cumin seeds, curry leaves, split green chillies, chopped onions, little salt and saute well on low flame until the onions turns translucent.
Now add the cooked mutton pieces and stir well.
Add red chilli powder, and stir well until the raw smell leaves.
Check for salt and add if necessary.
Add pepper powder and stir well.
Now add the water obtained from cooked mutton and stir well. Let it boil until the water content reduces.
Remove from flame.
Serve.
TIP 1: The masala tastes so yummy without adding ginger, garlic or tomatoes so they are not necessary but if you opt for it you can add them in small quantities.
TIP 2: Instead of cumin seeds you can also add cumin powder.
TIP 3: If you are going to use beef, then pressure cook the meat for 30 minutes and then use it.
Delicious and spicy mutton masala is ready!! Serve with Indian bread varieties like Chapati or with any Rice variety/Biryani and melt in the taste!!!
