  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 3 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. lowfat milk

Инструкции

  1. Sift flour, baking pwdr, salt and sift again. Cut in shortening till mix looks like meal. Add in lowfat milk, a little at a time. Roll dough 1/8 inch thick. Cut into circles large sufficient to enclose a small apple. Place apples on dough. Fill cavities with mix of sugar and cinnamon and dot with butter.
  2. Bring dough up over apples, joining edges underneath. Place in pan, allowing space between dumplings.
  3. Combine sugar, butter, nutmeg, cinnamon and water and pour into pan with dumplings. Bake in warm oven (450 degrees 10 min), then decrease heat (400 degrees). Cook 20 min longer or possibly till apples are tender. Makes 8 dumplings.
