This Mongolian Beef has a rich, savory flavor, fragrant with garlic bean sauce, and is a favorite dish in our home.

Mix beef with meat marinade (except the egg and flour) set aside.

In a separate bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, sherry, rice vinegar and garlic bean sauce (set aside for at least 30 minutes)

Heat pan and add oil.

When pan is hot add the red pepper flakes. Stir constantly for 30 seconds.

Beat the egg and mix with the flour into a mixture and add to the steak and marinade.

Add this mixture to the pan.

Stir fry constantly until the steak is cooked, then pour in Mongolian sauce mixture and let it reduce for 2 minutes over high heat, still mixing.

Do you ever look back on some of your recipes and wish you had done a better job? Either the photos needed help or the recipe was just a bit lacking?

Yeah, me too. A lot.

I was thinking the other day of how much I love to cook Asian inspired cuisine. Mongolian Beef came to my mind. I wondered if I had ever posted a recipe. Yup, I sure did. Then I sat there in front of my laptop and realized I needed to redo that recipe.

The photos were totally lackluster. The recipe was good. But I recalled thinking it could have been better. So I went about redoing the recipe.

The core of the original recipe is still there, but this one is so much better. I am telling you this because, you see, Mongolian Beef is the hubby’s favorite thing to order at PF Chang’s. When I told him I was making this for dinner, he told me he wasn’t hungry.

Do you think he secretly didn’t care for it the last time I made it? I was disappointed that he didn’t want to try it.

But wait, there’s more. He watched as Hunter walked over with a plate full. Then he was eyeing my plate. So I asked him if he would like a little bite of mine. ” Yes, please.” he says, “Just a little taste.”

He tastes it, immediately gets up from the couch, walks into the kitchen and makes a plate for himself. Not a chance for seconds for anyone now. He put the rest of the beef that was in the pan right onto his plate.

Hmm. So glad he wasn’t interested.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
