- 1 c. water
- 1 c. pitted dates, packed
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 2 c. whole wheat flour
Инструкции
- Bring water to a boil. Add in dates to boiling water and stir over low heat for about 1 minute to "dissolve" dates. Remove from heat; add in molasses, butter, salt and soda (mix will foam). Let cold at least 20 min.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8"x4"x2" loaf pan. Add in flour to date mix and stir till well mixed. Scrape mix into prepared pan and smooth down. Bake 60 min or possibly till brown and a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Place pan on wire rack to cold. Remove cooled loaf from pan, wrap in plastic bag and store at least 24 hrs at room temperature before slicing. Serve with cream cheese.
