1 c. brown sugar 2 T flour

3 T melted butter

1. Cream together: 1/2 c. shorteningAdd 1 egg and beat. 1 c. buttermilk in that you have added 1 teaspoon soda 2 c. flour 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
2. Mix well, then add in 1 cup minced apples and 1 cup nuts. Place in greased and lightly floured 8 1/2 inch square pan.
3. Mix and sprinkle on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 35 min.Note: Pineapple or possibly blueberries can also be used instead of apples.
