- Cream the butter in a bowl, and then add in the icing sugar, grnd almonds and a quarter of the flour. Stir
- Add in the egg and the rest of the flour
- Mix without working the dough too much
- Cover the bowl and put it in the refrigerator for 6 hrs
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C)
- Peel and core the apples, and cut them into small cubes
- Put half of the cubes and the cream into a frying pan and cook till you have a compote
- Set aside
- Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough on a floured countertop till it is about 1/5Ⳡ(½ cm) thick
- Place the dough into a buttered flan dish with a removable bottom and bake in the oven for about 15 min
- Take the dish out of the oven and spread the apple compote onto the dough, followed by the raw apple cubes and flaked almonds
- Put it back into the oven and bake for 10 min
- This last stage finishes off cooking the dough, cooks the small cubes of apple and browns the almonds.
