- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 crisp apple, finely chopped
- 4 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 4 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- Additional melted butter to brush the pan
- a handful of hazelnuts {or whatever nut you've got on hand}
- For the Glaze: equal parts powdered sugar and maple syrup {5 Tbsp each of maple syrup & powdered sugar}
