- Combine all ingredients in a 3-5 qt saucepan and simmer 25 min. Put into sterilized hot pint jars leaving 1/4 inch space at the top. Process in a steam canner or possibly boiling water bath for 10 min.
- makes 3 pints.
- To use: pour 1 pint into an 8 inch baking dish and cover top with pastry.
- Bake at 400 for 12-15 min till brown and serve hot.
