Рецепт Mega Chocolate Sourdough Brownies w Bacon
Mega Chocolate Sourdough Brownies w Bacon
It's the 20th of the month and that means Sourdough Surprises Challenge~ This month our challenge was to use our sourdough starter in a Brownie Recipe~ Yippee!! Brownies~
I decideed to use the recipe that was on Sourdough Surprises~ Mega Chocolate Sourdough Brownies. (Wild Yeast, The Gingered Whisk)
Why did I add turkey bacon to the brownie recipe you ask? Well, I was making myself a salad for lunch and while I was making my salad I remembered that the Sourdough Surprises Challenge was coming up. I knew the challenge was to make Brownies~ When I finished my salad and went back into the kitchen to clean up, I saw the baggie that had about 1/2 cup of leftover diced turkey bacon in it. I thought about throwing it away, and then I thought about giving it to my 3 pugs, since they were staring at me, drooling and then I thought, what the heck, I'm throwing it into the brownie batter! It certainly wasn't going to ruin them:) They turned out Great~
- Mega Chocolate Sourdough Brownies with Turkey Bacon~
- 300 g bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 226 grams unsalted butter, cut into pieces (about 2 sticks)
- 200 grams sugar
- 6 grams (1 tsp) salt
- 8.4 grams (2 tsp) vanilla extract
- 3 whole eggs, room temperature
- 40 grams cocoa power

- 1/2 cup finely diced, cooked Turkey Bacon ( I used Jennie-O)
Preheat oven to 325
Lightly grease a 13 x 9 glass baking dish
In a medium saucepan, melt the chocolate and butter. Stir often so it does not burn.
Pour the melted chocolate/butter mixture into a large glass bowl.
Whisk in the sugar, salt and vanilla extract.
Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking to combine after each addition
Sift the cocoa powder over the chocolate and stir to combine.
Add the starter and stir gently until it is completely incorporated
Pour batter into prepared baking dish
Sprinkle with 1/2 cup diced cooked Turkey bacon
Bake about 40 mins or until toothpick inserted near the middle comes out clean. Cool in pan 20 mins and Dig In~
