Meatless Chow Mein

Ингредиенты

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 lg. green peppers, cut in long strips
  • 1 med. onion, minced
  • 2 c. minced celery
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • 1 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 can bean sprouts
  • 1 sm. can of mushrooms

Инструкции

  1. Heat butter in skillet; add in green pepper, onion, celery and seasonings. Cook for 2 min. Add in warm water. Cover and cook 10 min. Add in bean sprouts and bring to a boil. Combine thickening and flavoring ingredients and add in to vegetable mix. Stir lightly and cook for 1 minute. Serve warm with cooked rice, or possibly noodles.
  2. We all liked chow mein a lot so I used to make this often during Lent.
