Рецепт McDo Burger, blue tomatoes and the lemon tree
by Katie Zeller

Two all beef patties special sauce lettuce cheese pickles onions on a sesame seed bun.

There is no punctuation because when I first learned this jingle the words were all run together.

If you don’t know what it describes…. Well, what can I say.

This is my version, with my own special sauce and without the lettuce (none in my garden) and the sesame seed bun (didn’t have one big enough).

Oh – and this is a giant version…..

I think in they US the Golden Arches are referred to as Micky D’s.

Here it’s McDo’s.

You should use a grill basket for this – makes turning much easier.

McDo Burger

Total time: 35 minutes

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Sauté onion in olive oil until browned , but still soft, about 15 minutes

Oil grill basket

Divide beef in half. On plates or waxed paper pat each half into a thin patty, about 6 inches in diameter.

Put the ‘bottom’ patty in the grill basket

Spread the browned onions over 1 patty to within 1/3 inch of the edges.

Lay the pickles on the onions, spread the sauce on the pickles and top with cheese.

Flatten the second patty a bit more and carefully put it on top and work the edges together with your fingers to seal.

Grill for 6 – 8 minutes over medium-high heat, carefully turn and grill another 6 – 8 or until done.

Remove to platter, cut into wedges and serve.

This is going to be a quick post as we are besieged by thunderstorms at the moment.and our internet router is very susceptible to damage…..

Here are my pretty, almost-naked, blue tomato plants. They’re even more naked today after snipping off more sick leaves. So far the tomatoes haven’t been affected but I don’t have a lot of hope after the rain today and more forecast for tomorrow.

As Freddie Mercury of Queen would say: ‘Another one bites the dust.’

On the positive side, here is my most recent pic of my Meyer Lemon Tree.

It has branches!!!!

Little, tiny ones, yes, but definitely branches.

For reference, this is what it looked like at the beginning of June.

And now I must sign off – thunder in the distance and some spectacular lightening…..
