- Combine 2 Tbsp. sugar and cornstarch in small saucepan. Add in cool water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly till the mix is thick and clear. Cold completely.
- Beat egg whites with salt and vanilla till soft mounds hard. Gradually add in 6 Tbsp. sugar, one Tbsp. at a time beating after each addition. Add in cornstarch mix continuing beating till meringue stands in soft peaks. Spread on pie.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 min till golden.
