%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20you%20can%20imagine%20my%20frustration%20when%20I%20decided%20to%20create%20a%20recipe%20based%20on%20Stuffed%20Peppers,%20but%20pizza%20inspired,%20and%20then%20realized%20I%20would%20have%20to%20figure%20out%20how%20to%20slow%20cook%20them%20instead%20of%20bake,%20because%20let's%20face%20it...those%20aren't%20fitting%20in%20the%20toaster%20oven!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELuckily%20I%20was%20able%20to%20take%20my%20ideas,%20add%20a%20few%20from%20another%20recipe%20I%20found,%20and%20use%20their%20cooking%20instructions%20to%20develop%20them%20for%20the%20Crock%20Pot.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20your%20family%20loves%20stuffed%20peppers%20like%20mine,%20they%20will%20flip%20for%20these!%20Think%20all%20the%20flavors%20of%20a%20supreme%20pizza%20stuffed%20inside%20a%20pepper%20for%20easy%20access!%20Not%20to%20mention,%20it's%20a%20fantastic%20recipe%20to%20adapt%20for%20the%20number%20of%20people%20in%20your%20family.%20And%20if%20your%20kids%20normally%20turn%20their%20noses%20up%20at%20stuffed%20peppers...then%20maybe,%20just%20maybe%20these%20will%20pass%20inspection%20a%20little%20easier%20since%20you%20can%20tell%20them%20they%20taste%20like%20pizza,%20just%20without%20the%20crust;%20and%20let's%20face%20it,%20a%20lot%20of%20little%20ones%20don't%20eat%20the%20crust%20any%20way,%20so%20they%20won't%20even%20miss%20it!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20am%20always%20a%20huge%20fan%20of%20my%20Crock%20Pot,%20but%20without%20a%20working%20oven,%20it's%20quickly%20becoming%20an%20even%20better%20friend%20to%20me.%20If%20it%20weren't%20for%20it...I%20might%20just%20be%20ordering%20take%20out%20every%20night.%20Mmmm....maybe%20the%20Crock%20Pot%20should%20hide%20for%20a%20bit...that%20sounds%20a%20bit%20like%20a%20cooking%20vacation!%20Just%20kidding...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20skillet,%20brown%20sausage%20until%20no%20longer%20pink.%20When%20sausage%20is%20almost%20done,%20add%20mushrooms%20and%20brown.%20Drain%20if%20necessary.%20Add%20in%20pizza%20sauce,%20orzo,%20seasoning%20and%201%20c.%20cheese.%20Stir%20until%20mixed%20well.%20Cut%20tops%20off%20peppers%20and%20set%20aside.%20Remove%20seeds%20and%20ribs%20from%20peppers%20and%20rinse.%20(If%20they%20won't%20stand%20up%20on%20their%20own,%20slice%20a%20tiny%20bit%20off%20bottom%20to%20make%20flat.)%20Fill%20peppers%20with%20filling%20and%20replace%20tops.%20Spray%20Crock%20Pot%20with%20cooking%20spray.%20Add%20water.%20Place%20peppers%20in,%20standing%20up.%20Cook%20on%20LOW%204-5%20hours.%20In%20the%20last%2010%20minutes,%20remove%20tops,%20and%20sprinkle%20with%20remaining%20cheese.%20Cook%20until%20cheese%20is%20melted.%20To%20remove,%20carefully%20use%20a%20slotted%20spoon%20and%20tongs,%20but%20do%20not%20squeeze.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPin%20It%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
