  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 6 Tbsp. shortening
  • 2 Tbsp. cool water more as needed

  1. Mix flour and salt in bowl; cut in shortening. Gradually add in cool water, mixinguntil flour is moistened.
  2. Shape dough into a ball; flatten to about 1 inch thickness. On a lightly floured board, roll dough into a circle about 2 inches larger than inverted9-inch pie plate. Line plate with pastry. Turn edge under; flute if you like.
