Рецепт Left Over Thanksgiving Sandwiches
by CookingLib

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

We certainly enjoyed ours. This was the first time in a long while where we did not have to travel so y'all can imagine how laid back and easy going this Thanksgiving was for us.

I was especially happy because it gave me a chance to do what I've always wanted to do for the past few years, which is take pictures of all of our traditional Thanksgiving recipes and share them with you on the blog. So get ready for some of my family's favorite holiday recipes coming up in the next few weeks.

Let's get down to business with this sandwich…..

it's basically your whole Thanksgiving dinner except in sandwich form.

As much as I would love to, I cannot take credit for this recipe. All the kudos go out to a fabulous lady we all know as the Pioneer Woman (aka: Mrs. Ree Drummond).

I watched her show on left over Thanksgiving recipes and when I saw this sandwich, I knew I had to put it down on our menu!

Her recipe called for a panini maker, however, we are not that high tech in this family yet, so I just made this in a regular pan while smashing it down with a spatula. Believe me, you must smash it down because it's pretty darn thick to begin with. Unless, of course, you have a panini maker…then you would omit the smashing.

Husband Man LOVED this sandwich so I think it's safe to say it will be added to our left over Thanksgiving menu every year.

God Bless you Pioneer Woman.

Left Over Thanksgiving Sandwiches

(makes one big sandwich, enough to feed 2 people)

Ingredients:

2 tbsp. regular mustard

2 slices sourdough sandwich bread

Directions:

1. Preheat a skillet on low to medium heat.

2. Take 1 tbsp. of butter and spread it on one side of a piece of bread.

3. Once the pan is finished preheating, take the slice of bread and place it on to the pan, buttered side down.

4. Slather 1 tbsp. of mustard on the top and place one slice of Swiss cheese on top of the mustard.

5. Take the 1/3 cup shredded turkey and place it on top. Followed by the dressing/stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce. Finish it off with the last piece of Swiss Cheese.

6. Take the second piece of bread and spread 1 tbsp. of mustard on top. Take the piece and place it, mustard side down, on top of the sandwich.

7. Slather the top of the sandwich with 1 tbsp. of butter.

8. Smash the sandwich down with a spatula.

9. Heat in skillet until the cheese is melted, the tops of the bread are light brown, and the inside is heated through, making sure to carefully flip the sandwich every so often.
