Рецепт Last Chard Gratin
by Katie Zeller

Really.

This is the last chard gratin.

It’s also the last of the chard for the season

I’ve made a lot of chard dishes this summer; I’ve made a lot of chard gratins this summer.

This one was the best.

We liked it so much that I made it twice more before the chard was finished. It’s not significantly different from other chard gratins I’ve made – just more mustard and a big red onion, but, for some reason, the flavors really came together right in this one.

I love it when a plan comes together!

Last Chard Gratin

Total time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Heat 2 tsp olive oil in a medium skillet

Add red onion, garlic, fry until tender and starting to brown.

Add Worcestershire sauce, thyme and stir to combine.

In medium bowl beat eggs.

Add mustard, yogurt, cheese and stir well.

Add chard, onions, and combine

Lightly oil a baking dish. Spoon chard into dish, packing it down, and bake at 400F (200C) for 30 minutes.

Remove and serve directly from baking dish.

We had a lovely time in Paris, wonderful food and all that.

More about that later…..

Our dogs were in the kennel for the very first time.

They’ve never been in the kennel before. They’ve never been away from us before.

I was a tiny bit concerned about them….. Not much, but a little.

I was worried that they might miss me or get lonely or bark or misbehave or whatever.

I went to pick them up this afternoon.

When I used to pick Sedi up from the kennel she used to spin and cry and bark and jump and generally go crazy as soon as she heard the car pull up.

When I used to pick Emma up from the kennel she ran around me in circles, crying and jumping on me and frantically licking my face.

When I got to the kennel this afternoon I saw these two running in the play area.

I’m pretty sure I heard one of them say ‘Drat, there’s our human.’

And the other one say ‘Let’s hide… Maybe she’ll leave.’

Not only did they not come running when I called them, when the kennel owner finally got them into the parking area they ran right past me.

I didn’t even get a greeting.

They looked at me, once, as if to say: Thanks for bringing us to camp, now go away so we can play with our new friends.

I feel so unappreciated…..

And tired…..

Too much to do in Paris and too little time…..

I’m very tired.
