I love recipes from SkinnyTaste.com. She does such an amazing job coming up with recipes that are real keepers! I changed this recipe up just a little bit but not by much.
I highly HIGHLY recommend that if you make this recipe that you use low sodium soy sauce. This recipe can get salty if you don’t!!
Ingredients:
- 1 pound boneless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup low sodium or gluten-free soy sauce
- 1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
- 1/4 cup finely chopped yellow onion
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tbsp light brown sugar
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Directions:
Place the chicken breasts in a zip bag then add all ingredients the additional ingredients. You can mix all the marinade ingredients in a bowl if you would like but I found sticking it in a zip bag works just as well.
Refrigerate and marinate for 1 hour or more. I marinaded mine for 24 hours and I highly recommend that.
Over medium-high heat, grill the chicken for 2 to 3 minutes longer depending on the thickness of your chicken.
Turn the chicken and grill the chicken an addition 2 to 3 minutes or until the chicken reaches 165 degrees.
