My Grandma made these every Christmas eve. There was no recipe, these are what we came up with, they taste right.

- Cut bacon into small pieces and fry, half way through frying add onions. Set aside.
- Mix all dumpling ingredients except the oil. Knead dough well. Shape into balls the size of walnuts. I use a cookie scoop, a lot quicker. Cook, covered in salted, boiling water for about 5 minutes until they float to the surface. Toss with oil, so they don't stick.
- Top with the bacon and onion.
- note: there are other topping that can be used. Fried onions, mushrooms, sour cream.
