It’s my SITS Day & Frogmore Stew

Well, I can finally reveal that TODAY is my SITS day!! Whoo hoo!! For those of you who don’t know what that means, let me tell you… SITS (The Secret to Success is Support) is a great blog community for women that I have been a part of for almost 2 years. We support each other by commenting and linking to others so we can all get to know each other. Every day there is a featured blogger and today it is ME!! Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you find something to make for dinner tonight…

I know this recipe is all over the internet and in old cook books. I have made it in all sorts of ways, however, as far as I can tell, this is the authentic “frogmore stew” recipe. In reality, it is really just a method, there are so many different things you could add– the list is infinite. So give this a try and then add your own favorite ingredients. PS: I love adding lobster tails and scallops…

Frogmore Stew

INGREDIENTS:

DIRECTIONS:

Bring 3 quarts of water, onions, garlic, Old Bay seasoning and halved lemon (squeeze the juice into the water first) to a boil over medium-high heat in a large stockpot.

Add potatoes and sausage and return to a boil. Cover and reduce heat, and simmer about 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Add corn, increase heat to medium-high and cook, covered until tender-about 5 minutes. Put in the shrimp, cover and steam for 3 minutes. Turn off heat; gently stir shrimp into the hot stew and let sit for about 2 minutes. Pour onto a large serving platter and serve with melted butter.
