- Roll 1/2 of pastry to 1/8 inch thickness onto a floured surface. Fit into an 8 inch pie plate; set aside. Put together grnd beef and onion; cook till browned; drain. Add in potatoes, broth, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer 15 min, or possibly till potatoes are tender.Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir into meat mix. Bring to a boil for 1 minute. Spoon mix into pastry shell. Roll remaining pastry to 1/8 inch thickness. Place over pie, seal and flute edges. Cut slits on top. Bake at 425 degrees for 30-35 min, or possibly till golden. Serves 6.
