Рецепт Ice Tea Sangria {and an Equal Summer Iced Beverage Kit Giveaway!}
Here in Georgia, people adore their sweet tea. They serve it so sweet that it makes your teeth ache just to drink it! Being a Northerner, I have to remember to order my iced tea unsweetened. Then I sweeten it with a no calorie sweetener like Equal®. I like my iced tea sweet, but I don’t want the empty calories from all that sugar. I also like Equal® because it tastes great, it dissolves quickly in cold drinks, you can find it at most restaurants, and best of all – no calories!
Since we’re having such a hot summer and have to drink lots of iced tea to stay cool, I wanted to come up with a festive party drink that didn’t involve alcohol. I love fruity sangria and adore peach tea, so I combined the tea and came up with this Ice Tea Sangria recipe. It’s a fairly low calorie recipe since the only calories are from the fruit since it’s sweetened with Equal®.
Ice Tea Sangria recipe tips
I used a Takeya Flash Chill Tea Maker to make my Ice Tea Sangria recipe. I’m giving away one of these – see the giveaway details below! The Takeya Flash Chill Tea Maker makes iced tea in about 10 minutes, including time it takes to heat the water and steep the tea. If you drink a lot of ice tea and wait around for it to cool down, I highly recommend checking the Takeya out!
You can make Ice Tea Sangria recipe with your favorite flavors of tea. I used a ginger and peach black tea, but you can use green or herbal tea as well. Also. Ice Tea Sangria is easy to make because the recipe calls for pre-sliced frozen fruit. Not only is the fruit already prepared for you, but since it’s frozen, it helps the iced tea stay cool longer!
Feel free to add more or less Equal® to taste, too. Or you can leave the pitcher unsweetened and let everyone add the number of Equal® packets to their own glass of Ice Tea Sangria according to their personal taste.
Ingredients
Your favorite tea (loose or in bags)
Hot water
Ice cubes
2 pounds frozen fruit
3/4 cup Equal® (18 packets)
Directions
Prepare approximately 8 cups of ice tea according to instructions if using the Takeya Flash Chill Tea Maker. (Or make iced tea however you like.)
Place frozen fruit and Equal® in a tall pitcher. Pour iced tea over fruit and Equal®. Stir to combine.
Using a long spoon or ladle, scoop out some fruit into glasses. Pour iced tea over fruit and serve with a couple of straws. Straws then can be used as “chopsticks” to pick out fruit when you’re done with your tea!
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Total Time: 10 Minutes
Servings: 8 to 9 cups of iced tea
Serving size: 1 cup plus fruit
