%20I%20have%20had%20many%20latin%20friends%20over%20the%20years%20and%20have%20eaten%20in%20a%20great%20many%20latin%20restaurants,%20(no,%20neither%20one%20of%20us%20are%20of%20latin%20descent).%20However,%20when%20I%20have%20to%20choose%20something%20from%20a%20latin%20menu,%20my%20head%20begins%20to%20spin.%20I%20just%20can't%20decide%20which%20dish%20I%20want%20more,%20Arroz%20con%20Pollo,%20Picadillo,%20Ropa%20Vieja,%20Boliche,%20or%20this%20Bistec%20de%20Palomilla,%20the%20list%20goes%20on%20and%20on%20and%20on.%20So,%20when%20cooking%20latino%20foods%20I%20usually%20start%20here%20at%20this%20website,%20icuban%20(which%20was%20originally%20called%20Three%20Guys%20from%20Miami)%20for%20my%20inspiration%20and%20recipes.%20Then%20in%20my%20quest%20for%20more%20latin%20foods,%20I%20was%20searching%20the%20blogoshpere%20and%20came%20across%20Marta's%20blog,%20MyBigFatCubanFamily%20and%20fell%20in%20love%20with%20it.%20Then%20as%20I%20was%20wandering%20around%20her%20blog%20one%20day,%20I%20found%20this%20post%20of%20her%20Bistec%20de%20Palomilla%20and%20I%20knew%20I%20had%20to%20have%20some.%20We%20are%20all%20immigants%20from%20somewhere%20else%20and%20striving%20for%20the%20same%20thing;%20the%20right%20to%20live%20in%20the%20land%20of%20the%20free.%20So%20if%20you%20check%20out%20just%20one%20link%20I've%20posted%20here%20at%20least%20read%20the%20story%20that%20is%20on%20her%20bistec%20de%20palomilla%20link.%20It%20is%20truely%20heartwarming.%20As%20are%20many%20of%20her%20posts.%20I%20bet%20you'll%20be%20hooked%20like%20I%20was.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWith%20out%20further%20hesitation,%20here%20is%20the%20recipe%20for%20the%20most%20deliciously%20perfect%20(and%20simple)%20dinner.%20If%20you%20have%20never%20had%20this,%20it%20is%20a%20recipe%20you%20absolutely%20must%20try.%20From%20my%20folder%20under%20'My%20Favorites'-%22Recipes%20to%20Try%22,%20which%20has%20since%20been%20moved%20to%20%22Favorite%20Recipes%20to%20Keep%20Making%22.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBistec%20de%20Palomilla%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECourtesy%20of%20%20Marta's%20Big%20Fat%20Cuban%20Family%20and%20RecipeAddict%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20the%20bag%20in%20the%20refrigerator%20and%20allow%20to%20marinate%20%E2%80%93%20preferably%20overnight,%20but%20at%20least%20for%20one%20hour.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20the%20steaks%20from%20the%20marinade%20and%20pat%20dry.%20Reserve%20the%20marinade.%20Set%20the%20onions%20aside.%20Heat%20olive%20oil%20in%20a%20large%20frying%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFry%20the%20steaks%20quickly%20about%201%20minute%20per%20side%20and%20remove%20to%20a%20warm%20platter.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESqueeze%20the%20juice%20of%20the%20other%20lime%20into%20the%20pan%20and%20stir,%20this%20will%20%E2%80%9Cclean%E2%80%9D%20any%20burnt%20bits%20from%20the%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20remaining%20marinade,%20onions%20and%20garlic%20to%20the%20lime%20juice%20and%20quickly%20stir%20together%20over%20medium%20heat%20for%20about%205%20minutes.%20The%20onions%20should%20still%20be%20crisp%20and%20the%20garlic%20should%20not%20be%20brown.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20onion%20mixture%20over%20the%20steaks%20on%20the%20platter.%20And%20garnish%20with%20the%20chopped%20fresh%20parsley.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENote:%20I%20have%20read%20many%20recipes%20for%20this%20steak%20that%20will%20tell%20you%20to%20use%20cubed%20steaks%20or%20top%20round%20steaks,%20don't.%20It%20is%20NOT%20authentic.%20I%20have%20never%20ordered%20this%20dish%20out%20were%20either%20one%20of%20those%20were%20used%20for%20this%20recipe.%20Only%20very%20thinly%20sliced,%20boneless%20top%20sirloin%20is%20used%20in%20authentic%20cuban%20restaurants%20and%20homes%20as%20well.%20If%20you%20have%20the%20good%20fortune%20as%20I%20do%20to%20have%20a%20Latin%20market%20they%20will%20know%20and%20have%20this%20cut%20in%20their%20meat%20case.%20If%20not%20then%20as%20Marta%20says%20your%20butcher%20will%20think%20you%20are%20crazy.%20However%20rest%20assured,%20you%20won't%20be%20sorry%20you%20made%20this%20dish.%20It%20also%20makes%20a%20wonderful%20sandwich%20with%20any%20leftovers%20you%20might%20have,%20served%20on%20pressed%20cuban%20bread%20(Italian%20or%20french%20bread%20will%20do%20if%20you%20can't%20get%20cuban).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMicheal%20and%20Carla%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
