Ингредиенты

  • 2 c. pitted dates (minced fine)
  • 2 c. pitted prunes (minced)
  • 4 tbsp. shortening
  • 1 1/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 c. honey
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 1 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. orange juice
  • 2 Large eggs, beaten
  • 4 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 c. minced pecans
  • 1 c. walnuts

Инструкции

  1. Put prunes, dates, shortening, brown sugar, honey, vanilla, orange peel, orange juice and warm water into a mixing bowl. Stir well and set aside for 15 min.
  2. Add in Large eggs, stir; add in soda and mix thoroughly.
  3. Sift flour, baking pwdr and salt. Add in to liquid and stir just sufficient to moisten dry ingredients. Mix in nuts. Turn into two greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pans.
  4. Bake in a slow oven (325 degrees) one hour or possibly till bread tests done in the center. Let stand in pans 10 min; turn onto wire rack to cold. Wrap in foil or possibly plastic wrap and store in cold place.
