You might not believe this but I can be the adventurous type. At least in the kitchen I am. I love trying new ingredients or combinations that you might not have otherwise thought to use. Now I have made beer bread, and beer stew, so why not use beer in a salad dressing. I know you are thinking why would you add beer to something that is otherwise healthy. Well, why not? My Honey Dew Ale Lemon Vinaigrette is so delicious and two tablespoons on your bed of lettuce is just the right amount.
I took a drive to Bev Mo and checked out their isles of many different types of beer. Whatever happened to just Bud or Coors? There are literally hundreds of different types of beer. Craft beer, imported beer, and so on. But I spotted this bottle of Honey Dew Ale that is organically crafted, so I picked it up and put it in my cart along with two other interesting brews.
Honey Dew Ale Lemon Vinaigrette

- Serves: ½ cup
- 4 ounces Honey Dew Ale
- 1 tablespoon minced shallot
- 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
- ½ Tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon Honey Dijon mustard
- 4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
In a small bowl, whisk the beer with the shallot, lemon zest, honey and mustard. Gradually add the oil in a thin stream, whisking constantly.
Season the vinaigrette with salt and pepper and serve.

This ale adds a smooth complex mix of flavors that will have you licking your lips.And now I am going to let you in on a little secret. The Honey Dew Ale straight up was damn delicious too!
